Technology Integration K-2

Technology Integration

"Integrating technology into the curriculum is a priority -- if not a mandate -- in most schools today. Most educational technology experts agree, however, that technology should be integrated, not as a separate subject or as a once-in-a-while project, but as a tool to promote and extend student learning on a daily basis. The challenge, of course, is in finding ways to use technology -- and to help students use it -- that don’t take time away from core subjects."

KidPix Templates

1. When you find a template you want to use, save it to your folder.

2. When you are ready to deliver it to your students, save it to student shared>your grade level>your class folder.

3. Kid Pix templates need to be opened by opening kid pix first then file>open>navigate to student shared.

4. For Kinder, parent helpers can get the template on the screen. First and second graders can navigate and open them by themselves with guided instruction.

One Take Videos:

The 'One Take' video is a short (2 minutes or less) video that was filmed with no external camera editing. The focus is on student script-writing and storyboarding so that students can learn to quickly present a lesson review, preview or key idea without focusing on the extra film editing features.

Blogging :

What's a blog?

"A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world.

Your blog is whatever you want it to be. There are millions of them, in all shapes and sizes, and there are no real rules.

In simple terms, a blog is a web site, where you write stuff on an ongoing basis. New stuff shows up at the top, so your visitors can read what's new. Then they comment on it or link to it or email you. Or not.

Since Blogger was launched in 1999, blogs have reshaped the web, impacted politics, shaken up journalism, and enabled millions of people to have a voice and connect with others.

And we're pretty sure the whole deal is just getting started."
